Indian Summer

We dreamt of Bollywood.

There are several Indian events all over London this summer to mark India's 60th year of Independence. There were dance performances for three weekends at Trafalgar Square. These are the ones I saw.

Lots of potential, but leaves you feeling shortchanged. The concept could have been fleshed out more. The unnecessary motorbikes nearly caused an accident. Don't dance and drive.

Very clear in its abstraction of Indian colonial history. Colorful and effective. Hey, aren't those striped rainbow shirts from Primark?

Danceable tunes, but nobody danced! I saw painters from Mumbai working on the giant poster. Namastey!

  1. Those are gorgeous pictures! I love festivals that celebrate stuff like that... those pics remind me of Folklife Festival here in Seattle. I love going there every year ;)
