There are a number of rice terraces in hilly parts. I feel embarrassed not to have seen the ones in Banawe.

Similar to what you find in Philippine provinces, there is a small entry fee to tourist sites.

Visitors will have their own Eat Pray Love moment: people wear traditional dress and offerings are part of daily life.

Speaking to our drivers, I had memorized the usual names of local men in the order they are born: First-borns are named Wayan, next is Made, then Nyoman and Ketut. Our drivers know Manny Pacquiao, which is cool.

Vehicles in Bali are mostly colored silver and black. Am not sure why. As is common in much of Asia, there are many motorbikes and scooters. Petrol is sold in Absolut bottles.

No land left is left idle and most of them are used for farming.

Starbucks and the American fastfood joints can be found at major intersections.

I would consider living here.
