Food trip: BCN

We took the recommendations by Alberguinn seriously. Hence, we spent more on food in Barcelona than in any other city. No, we don't regret eating well. We had our share of fastfood (Pans&Company and Bocatta, where there are baguettes and bagels, not burgers). We also attempted to picnic, making our own sandwiches from scratch on a park bench. Free breakfast at the hostel is always a plus.

Cerveseria Catalana (in photos) is an excellent place for tapas. Though you can tell what went into your food, everything is delicious and the ambience just perfect. That's why it often gets extremely busy. Nothing the servers (mostly Filipino) can't handle. No non-alcoholic drinks!

Can Ros
Said to have great paella, this little place hidden from Barceloneta left us unimpressed. We didn't think the paella was that special, partly because paella in Manila isn't so different and this was where we spent the most on just one plate.

inopia More tapas! It's cool to sit on the bar stool and watch the chef at work. Good food, a good-looking server, a free special drink to cap the meal--could you possibly ask for more?
