Secret Recipe is everywhere in Kuala Lumpur. Founded in Petaling Jaya during the 1997 Asian crisis, this cake shop has found its way into neighboring countries. They now have around 150 branches, of which 130 are in Malaysia and three are in the Philippines (I hope to check them out here soon).
They offer a special chicken (black pepper/mushroom/barbecue), rice and iced tea for RM10 (~P135). There are also other set meals. But the real secret is the selection of cakes. We tried two of their bestsellers, Chocolate Indulgence and Chocolate Fudge. They melt in your mouth, are not too sweet, and are sized just right. For RM6.30 (~P85) a slice (excl tax and service charge), it's a cheap ticket to heavenly bliss.
