I'll (probably) be home for Christmas

It actually makes economic sense to be home for the holidays. A UBS study shows that, of the 71 cities surveyed, London is the second most expensive city in the world after Oslo. Worth noting is Copenhagen in third place, with Zurich and Tokyo rounding up the top five. Manila is 67th. For more figures, download the Prices and Earnings study.

Actually, I have to come back for my Danish visa. Wala akong kawala sa yearly dance number naming magpipinsan para kay Lola Charing sa December 31! (Charing!)

  2. i also read somewhere that london is among the most expensive cities in the world to live in, although it wasn't in second place (the most expensive is moscow, seoul is second). i think it was an article in an international head hunting firm's website, so that employers know how much to shell out when hiring expat employees.

  3. to each his own research methodology. note this, from the same UBS study:

    Manila’s the place for clothes
Nowhere are gaps in global prices clearer than in clothing. A complete set of mens’ clothes of medium quality is eight times more expensive in Tokyo than it is in Manila; the same outfit for a lady costs eleven times as much...
