What's in a term? If you're familiar with the websites littered on that graphic, then you know Web 2.0. It's certainly a very interesting field. I've been thinking about my dissertation for next autumn and I'm quite drawn to new media. Since it's a very broad topic, I've narrowed down my three possible subjects to one. I'm nervous about it. It's thesis time all over again!
i remember this being dissed in buzzwordhell (.com of course!). personally this term doesn't make much sense to me either. much of what it boasts of existed in "web 1.0," with just a bit of tweaking and consolidation. i mean you never heard realnetworks call themselves web 1.02, or amazon web 1.03, or shockwave and discussion forums web 1.347. i guess i just don't like how they make the evolution of the internet sound like some simple software update. am i ranting? i think i need more presents! my relatives should be here soon. merry christmas abby! :) love the blogs!
